The Backdoor Terms and Conditions

  1. The Backdoor travel writer competition is open to anyone at least 18 years old in any part of the world.
  2. No purchase of any kind is necessary to be entered into the competition.
  3. All information detailing how to enter forms part of these terms and conditions. It is a condition of entry that every applicant abides by these rules. Submission to the competition will be taken as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  4. Only one (1) entry per applicant. Submissions should be entered electronically via The Backdoor Competition website.
  5. International flights, meals and transport are not included.
  6. Accommodation booking is subject to availability. Reservations must be made at least 7 days in advance.
  7. All entries must be received by the published competition closing date. Late entries will not be considered. The closing date of The Backdoor closing date is stated clearly within the details of competition.
  8. Prizes are not transferable to other locations and/or travellers.

  10. Your entry is automatically processed. We cannot accept responsibility for incorrectly submitted entries or entries that are lost, delayed or modified in transit.
  11. To participate in this competition, entrants must submit a featured article to the specified theme.
  12. The judging panel will determine the winner of the competition. The judging panel will be comprised of representatives from Make Travel Fair, WHL Consulting and whl.travel.
  13. Should you win the competition you will be contacted directly by e-mail, and only after the competition has closed.
  14. Copyright in all submissions to the competition will remain with the respective entrants. However, in consideration for their entering the competition, the entrant grants Make Travel Fair and WHL Group worldwide, irrevocable permission to feature any and all submissions on its site or partner sites and promotional materials for future competitions.
  15. Make Travel Fair will not pass on the personal details of any persons obtained to third parties, E-mail addresses and names will only be used by Make Travel Fair for future marketing purposes.
  16. Make Travel Fair will not use the details of our users for any third party commercial or marketing purposes.
  17. No part of a competition prize awarded by Make Travel Fair will be transferable for cash equivalent or any other prize. Prizes must be claimed within one year of winner announcement date.
  18. If an advertised competition prize is not available, we reserve the right to offer an alternative prize of equal value.
  19. Make Travel Fair reserves the right to amend these rules at any time. Make Travel Fair may also create rules which will apply to a specific competition only. If we do this we will publish the amended competition rules and/or specific competition rules on the relevant competition page.
  20. The closing date for the Competition drawing will be at midnight on July 25th, 2010 (subject to adjustments).
