Sorry but with respect MOST high class London Hotels do NOT serve a 100% traditional english tea and mix it with French pastries etc. and btw WARM scones are not good with clotted cream tea as the cream melts….if the scones are fresh there is no need to heat them and much better cold!! Same with muffins…when fresh they are better unheated! Cream tea should also be with thick clotted cream not the whipped light cream that some places serve! The best teas are in rural cafes in Devon, Dorset and Somerset! And a third of the price as London Hotels. I recommend the Savoy or Claridges or Fortnum’s top floor for high class London tea!
