Contributing Editor Michelle Rodrigues recounts her first evening in Tequila, Mexico. She’s there all this week with WHL Consulting. I arrived in the evening into Tequila around 8:15p.m. and already, on a Sunday night, there was a party. I would have liked to think it was in celebration of my arrival, but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t. You could hear the music from a few blocks down as we approached our hotel, Plaza Jardin, right in the middle of downtown Tequila.
This is a video my colleague Jeff from 360 Cities took before I arrived. I missed this part of the festivities, but the theme throughout the night was similar – fun, dance, food and of course, Tequila!
Every Sunday the center of Tequila is filled with carts selling a variety of traditional Mexican foods, but mostly tacos. Tacos al pastor proved to be my favorite. In my lovely guide to tacos, it gives the recipe. Who knew the tasty goodness that a mixture of pork, pineapple, seasonings and a real fresh taco could make.
With music, a teensy bit of dancing and a lot of food, downtown Tequila was the hippest spot of the night.
I’ll be here until the end of the week working on the implementation of the WHL Consulting Project: Exposure program in Tequila.
