Damian was born in the foothills of the Cordillera Blanca, part of the Andes Mountain range in Peru. For the early part of his life he would live between the coast of Peru and his mountain home. However it was near these vast mountains such as Mt. Huantsan, dominating the surroundings with their height, in one of the most beautiful valleys, near the world’s most beautiful mountain (Alpamayo, listed by UNESCO in 1966) that he grew up and passed the majority of his childhood. In this remote range he found no other distraction and developed his love of the natural world. From very young he learnt from his father (a very famous local guide) how to climb in these beautiful ranges, and at eight years old he accompanied his father on his first 6000m climb, from this moment his future profession was chosen. Since then he started out on the road to becoming a professional, giving everything to scale the largest and most difficult routes in both rock and mountain in the South American Andes.
Aside from taking on these peaks, he has dedicated his life to exploring the Andean mountain range with its immensely rich natural setting, collaborated on mountaineering books, helped with social projects in the surrounding mountainous areas and raised awareness of the environment in his country. For 25 long years he and his father led many expeditions. Today sadly his father is no longer with us and now watches over those making their way through the high mountains.
“However we still approach the mountains with much more desire to conquer than interest for their real dimension. We believe, that the mountains offer us an enormous possibility of an understanding to what is outside and inside us. If we destroy [through climate change] the mountains before humanity understands their true value, man will lose forever the chance of enjoying, searching and discovering this extra profound dimension that they offer to our world.”
Damian is exceptionally excited to have teamed up with Tribewanted this summer in the Andes and is very excited about meeting all those who will be coming to learn and put into practice the necessary skills to safely enjoy the spectacular scenery that he has always called home.

“Hoy el hombre va en busca de la naturaleza salvaje para conquistar los últimos rincones de su alma desconocida, oscura y olvidada. Por que no decir, la mejor historia que da realce es el cliente, y que se apasionó por las grandes cúspides inspirado en descubrirse como ser humano…”
Damian – nació en las faldas de la cordillera blanca, por que no decir en los andes del Perú, hasta los primeros años de su niñez esporádicamente también paso por la costa peruana, ya que su casa, era cercana a las impresionantes montañas dominadas por sus alturas llámese como nevado huantzan y otros, una de los valles más hermosas llamados aquel entonces la suiza peruana y muy cercano a la montaña mas bella del mundo, donde se crió y paso la mayor parte de su infancia. Esa remota cordillera, el no tenia un pensamiento mas en otra diversión y además existía en su pensamiento muchas cosas atractivas de la naturaleza, Solo el hacia lo que su padre desde muy niño le había enseñado, a escalar esos hermosas montañas blancas y negra. A tan solo con 8 años de edad fue una caminata acompañando a su padre que hoy quedaría demarcado en su vida hacia su profesión, escaló junto con su padre su primer 6000 mil, desde aquel entonces y años atrás, la vida demarcaría drásticamente a una manera y forma de vivir. Desde entonces comenzó formarse como profesional pasar muchas penurias para llegar a escalar grandes y difíciles rutas en roca y montaña por los Andes de Sudamérica.
A parte de las grandes cumbres realizadas, ha dedicado su vida también como explorador de los andes de Sudamérica y que aun esta por descubrir su inmensa riqueza natural, colaborando en algunos libros de andinismo, y un personaje con grandes proyecciones de hacer una grandeza ayuda social en las serranías de Sudamérica, protector del medio ambiente, (por los Verdes valles Inter. andinos) guía, fotógrafo, etc., y se le añaden otros atributos más…
Fueron veinte cinco largos años de búsqueda, de una pasión por las rutas de las montañas y pasaron muchas expediciones por sus manos, y con su padre y hermanos lo han palpitado muchas rutas inhóspitos de los andes. Hoy en día descansa el alma de su padre resplandeciendo a todos aquellos que van por el sendero de las altas montañas, y el honor de Damián Aurelio se restablece con una confianza mas hacia delante.
“Desgraciadamente todavía nos acercamos a las montañas con mucho más deseos de conquistar que interés por entender su real dimensión. Creemos que las montañas nos ofrece una enorme posibilidad de orientación hacia fuera y también hacia dentro de nosotros mismos. Si destruimos las montañas antes de que la humanidad comprenda ese verdadero valor, entonces el hombre perderá para siempre la posibilidad de disfrutarlas y buscar esa dimisión más profunda.”
