YSP: Travel within a circle of trust

When travelling independently one of the biggest obstacles to full immersion in a new culture, and being able to interact comfortably with the local population is trust.

Knowing exactly who is genuine and who isn’t can be a constant source of paranoia for many travellers, resulting in potential trip highlights falling by the wayside. Your Safe Planet has been setup by travellers to put other travellers in touch with local people. All of their contacts are trusted and vetted to help you get that one step closer to having a ‘real’, safe experience. Founder Sally Broom says that YSP is’a global community that is passionate about the world and respectful of its fragility’.

Through the use of local people as your information source you can be sure that your money is going to the right places, that your environmental footprint is as small as possible, and that your information is current. It costs £60 per country to use the services of YSP, most of which goes directly to the person you are put in contact with and the rest is used to help grow the YSP circle of trust. No commission from payments made for services abroad is paid to YSP, they offer a truly ethical service for the concerned independent traveller.
